Paralegal for Startup Law & Knowledge Management (part time, flexible, tech knowledge valued)

Tech-savvy paralegal to help build a legal knowledge base for early-stage and high-growth companies.


Overview

We're looking for a tech-savvy paralegal to review, refine, and validate legal playbooks and templates across US, UK, and EU jurisdictions. The role supports an advanced drafting automation tool and does not require coding expertise, though familiarity with software development and AI/LLM prompting is beneficial.

Scope of work

1. Review & validation of key startup modules

Templates and playbooks will cover:

  • Corporate & formation: founders' agreements, shareholders' agreements, bylaws/articles of association, board resolutions
  • Employment & HR: offer letters, PIIA, contractor agreements, employee handbooks
  • Intellectual property: IP assignment deeds, trademark licensing, NDAs
  • Commercial & privacy: SaaS agreements, MSAs, LOI, Terms of Service, Privacy Policies, DPA templates
  • Fundraising (optional): SAFEs, ASAs, Convertible Notes

2. Commercial & practical enhancement

  • Distinguish between critical risks and commercial trade-offs
  • Adapt concepts for specific jurisdictions
  • Structure legal rules for automation

Skills required

  • Legal experience in startups or small businesses
  • Multi-jurisdictional knowledge of US, UK, or EU law
  • Tech-savvy approach to legal research and structured data
  • Regular LLM usage is beneficial
