When you have a document uploaded and a searcher in the list, what does "run search" do? Is it superfluous anyway, because you can rerun a searcher if you don't get the output expected?

"Run search" should give you a preview with the words that would be replaced/displaced (if "Highlight differences" is on).

PS: It's a bug there but it'll be fixed with future commits.
