Everyone Gets an Organisation

Legal work is rarely done alone. A contract passes between co-founders, a business and its advisor, a family and its solicitor. But until now, sharing your work in GitLaw took effort: share each file one by one, or find out organisations exist, create one, move your documents across, invite people, and remember to switch into it. Most people never bothered.

So we've changed the starting point. Every GitLaw user now gets an organisation from the moment they sign up.

A team of one is still a team

There's no separate "personal account" and "organisation" any more. You sign up, you get an organisation. If you're the only member, that's a team of one.

When you invite someone, nothing moves - your documents, contacts, and history stay where they are. The organisation just grows.

Keep different parts of your life separate

You can have more than one organisation. One for your personal life, one for your business - or one for each business you run. Files, contacts, and context stay apart.

A colleague in your work organisation can't see your personal matters - they live in a different organisation.

Inviting people is easy

When you start, GitLaw asks: who else works on contracts with you? Add your team, a family member, your lawyer or accountant - and they're in.

Share a document, folder, or matter with someone at another organisation and they work from their own account, with their own AI credits, contacts, and memory. Sharing with the other side of a deal costs you nothing.

Roles that make sense

Once more than one person is involved, two questions matter: who manages the team, and who can see a given document? GitLaw keeps them separate:

• Organisation roles - Owner, Admin, Member - decide who manages people, settings, and billing.
• Document roles - Owner, Editor, Viewer - decide who can open or edit a specific file.

And each file is either shared with your organisation or private - you choose as you add it.
