GitLaw How-To guides

Browse and organise templates with collections and categories

GitLaw's template library is large, so it's organised with collections and categories. Together they make it much faster to find the right contract instead of scrolling through everything.

Collections vs categories

Both help you navigate the library, but in different ways:

CollectionsCategories
What it isA curated grouping of related templatesA classification by document type or subject area
Think of it asA themed shelf someone has put togetherA label that says what kind of document this is
Use it toExplore a set of templates grouped around a themeNarrow the library down to one type of document

A single template can sit in a category (telling you what it is) and also appear in one or more collections (grouping it with related documents).

How to browse and filter

  1. Open the template library to see what's available.
  2. Browse by category to jump straight to the type of document you need - for example employment, NDAs, or services agreements.
  3. Explore collections to discover curated groups of related templates you might not have searched for directly.
  4. Combine with search and jurisdiction filters to narrow results further. The library lets you filter by jurisdiction so you only see documents relevant to where you operate.

Why organising helps you find contracts faster

  • Less scrolling - categories cut the library down to the kind of document you actually need.
  • Better discovery - collections surface related templates you may not have thought to look for.
  • Cleaner results - combining categories, collections, and jurisdiction filters gets you to the right starting point quickly.
