How does billing work?
GitLaw has three tiers: Free, Pro, and Enterprise. An organisation can mix free and paid members - you pay only for the members who need Pro. Sharing documents with people outside your organisation is always free. The AI runs on AI credits - a small amount is used each time you draft or review a document.

Free is a real tier, not a trial. Unlimited members, unlimited documents, and a monthly AI-credit allowance - for a solo user or a whole team.
Pro is the paid self-serve tier, priced per seat. Each seat gets more AI credits, plus advanced team settings, audit log and version history, and priority support. Scale up by adding seats or buying top-ups.
Enterprise is sales-led and custom-priced. It adds a custom credit pool, SSO/SAML, dedicated support with an SLA, and extended audit retention. Contact us.
What are AI credits?
AI credits power GitLaw's AI - drafting contracts, reviewing documents. Each use takes a small amount of credits, based on how much work is involved.
What affects the cost?
- Document length - longer contracts take more processing
- Amount of context - the more documents GitLaw compares or references, the more credits are used
- Number of revisions - the AI runs several cycles to get a good result (this is why a document often takes 1-3 minutes)
How much does a document typically cost?

Most documents sit in the standard range.
How credits are allocated
Each seat gets a monthly allowance that resets every billing cycle. Allowances don't transfer between members - each person has their own.
If someone runs out, you have two options:
- Upgrade from Free to Pro for a larger allowance per seat, or
- Buy a top-up - extra credits your whole organisation shares.
Top-ups are pooled at the organisation level. They kick in only after a member's own monthly allowance runs out, and - unlike the monthly allowance - they roll over and don't expire. See AI credits and top-ups.
Sharing is always free
Anyone you share a file, folder, or Project with works from their own GitLaw organisation, using their own credits. They're never billed to you - on any tier, including Free. See Do I pay for people I share documents with?.
