What can an AI assistant connected to GitLaw access?

When you connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant to GitLaw, it signs in as you. It doesn't get a separate account or any extra access.

What it can see

  • Only what you can see. Your assistant can search and read the documents your GitLaw account can open, and nothing more. Documents shared with you follow the same permissions they have in GitLaw.

What it can change

  • Every change is tracked. Edits are saved as new versions with full history, and can be recorded as tracked changes you accept or reject in GitLaw.
  • It can't sign or send. Sending for signature and sharing with the other party happen in GitLaw, by you.

Your data

Connecting an assistant doesn't change how GitLaw handles your documents, and they are not used to train AI models. See Is my data used to train AI?. What your assistant keeps from the chat itself is covered by your Claude or ChatGPT plan's privacy settings.

How to disconnect

Go to Settings → Connected apps and click Revoke next to the app. It loses access straight away. Each connection is listed separately, so revoke all of them if you connected more than once.
