Statement of Work
Updated 17 October 2025
This Statement of Work (SOW) template is designed to be used in conjunction with an existing Professional Services Agreement (PSA). It provides a detailed framework for outlining specific project work, deliverables, timelines, and terms. The SOW ensures clarity between parties on project scope and allows for the addition or expansion of work under the overarching PSA.
Statement of Work
This Statement of Work (SOW) is designed to work with an existing Common Paper Professional Services Agreement (PSA). The Common Paper PSA in this repository includes a Statement of Work in the Cover Page.
A SOW is a detailed document that outlines the specific work, deliverables, timelines, and terms for a particular project or service under a Professional Services Agreement. The SOW ensures both parties are clear on what will be done and when.
It allows the parties to agree upon new work that is not in scope in a previous SOW, or add on to or expand existing work. In most cases, people will create a PSA and the first SOW at the same time. Once you agree to the Key Terms (i.e., the legal details in the Cover Page), you can issue additional SOWs based on those agreed terms. There is no limit to the number of SOWs that can exist under a single PSA.
The key terms of this Statement of Work (SOW) are as follows:
