Report a Violation on Formulaic by Mozilla

OLOpen Legal LibraryUpdated 11 Dec 2025

This document outlines the process for reporting content policy violations on the Formulaic platform, detailing how users can submit a report and what to expect as both a reporter and a publisher. It also provides clear instructions for publishers to appeal content moderation decisions made by the platform's team.

Report a Violation on [platform name]

Last Updated [date of last update]

Content policy violations

All content published on [platform name] must meet the guidelines stated in our content policies. If you believe a [item type] violates one or more guidelines, you can report it and one of our moderators will review it. We take all moderation requests seriously.

How to report a content violation

[explain how to report a content violation]

Email our content moderation team

Send an email to our content moderation team at [email address].

Include in your email:

The page URL of the [item type] that you are reporting

The reason you believe it is a violation of our content policy

Any other information or context you would like us to consider

The specific policy you believe this [item type] violates. You can view all content policies here [link to content policies].

Reporters: What you can expect after reporting a violation

Our moderation team will review your content violation report and make a decision. If we deem that the reported [item type] is in violation, we will unpublish it from the [platform name] website and notify the publisher. The [platform name] publisher has six months in which to appeal our decision.

We will notify you of our content decision at the same email address that you used to submit your report.

Depending on the severity of a violation, we may take further action against the [platform name] publisher, including terminating their account.

Publishers: What you can expect if your [item type] is flagged for review

All users are bound by our terms of service and our content policies. If your [item type] is flagged for review and our moderators decide that your [item type] does not meet our guidelines, we will remove it from the public website. We will then notify you via email that you are in violation of the content policies.

Appeals process

You may appeal a content moderation decision up to six months after we notify you of the violation. Begin your appeal by replying to the violation email that we sent to you. In your reply, state the following:

Your rationale for why your [item type] is not in violation of the content policy we have highlighted

If you no longer have the violation email we sent, you may also appeal by emailing us at [email address]. Please include the following in your email to us:

A description of the [item type] for which we issued a violation

Your rationale for why your [item type] is not in violation of the content policy we have highlighted

Severe or repeated violations

Depending on the severity of a violation or a repeated pattern of content violations, users may be suspended, removed, or permanently banned from using [platform name].

A template isn't binding on its own - like any contract, it becomes binding once it's properly completed and signed. Templates in our curated library are professionally drafted for US or UK law; review any template before you sign it.

Yes. Chat with GitLaw to edit any section, or make changes directly in the editor.

Yes, read about team plans here.

Describe what you need in the chat and GitLaw will draft it for you.

Templates in our curated library are professionally drafted for US or UK law. The wider library comes from the GitLaw community and public sources - a solid starting point, but check any template fits your situation before you rely on it.

Mostly US and UK law. Some templates use general commercial terms that work across jurisdictions, and many note which law they're written for.

It depends on the situation. Templates work well for routine business agreements. For anything involving significant money, complex IP, employment, or areas you're unsure about, it's worth getting professional advice before you sign. GitLaw provides templates and tools, not legal advice.

Open any template in GitLaw and describe the change you want in the chat — 'make clause 4 mutual' or 'add a 30-day notice period', for example. GitLaw drafts the revised language and shows it as a suggested edit. You accept, reject, or keep editing from there.

Yes. Upload a Word, PDF, or Markdown file and GitLaw will open it in the editor. You can review, edit, or chat with GitLaw about it the same way you would with any template from the library.
